Pain returned after EVLT/sclerotherapy, do you know what might be wrong?

I had EVLT and it resolved most of my pain. Four weeks after I had foam sclerotherapy, my pain returned. Actually, it has worsened. One month post, I wear 30-40 mmHgstockings daily, but still I hurt SO much. I see my dr in a month-any thoughts about what might be wrong?

This is complicated and the discussion warrants a clinic visit. Sorry

I really cannot accurately evaluate the source of your pain without an exam and more information. I suggest you see your doctor soon.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the treated vein has re-opened. Keep wearing the stocking until your doctor does the follow-up ultrasound examination to provide the answer you seek.

If it is local pain around the areas of injection, I would try Ibuprofen or Aleve . Either one should improve that local discomfort. If it is generalized leg pain, similar to your discomfort prior to the procedure, I would see your provider sooner to relook at the closed vein to ensure they remained closed and ensure no deep vein blood clot.

Pain returning after foam sclerotherapy may be indicative of you developing a DVT, SVT, or SVPhlebitis. Please get checked out immediately with duplex ultrasound.

It is possible that you may have developed trapped blood after the sclerotherapy. This can be dealt with relatively easily. If you're having a significant amount of pain you should not wait one month to see your physician. And examination and possibly repeat duplex ultrasound should help determine what is causing the pain.

This is difficult to asses with out actually seeing it in person. You need to have a follow up with your physician soon to make a determination.

I had EVLT about 2-3 weeks ago and I'm still experiencing sharp pain. It's mostly when I stand or walk. Even when I wear a compression stocking during standing or walking, there is no relief. But if I don't wear the stocking, it feels like my vein is exploding. I checked with my vascular surgeon and he said I have a clot. What should I do? Is there any way to get the pain to subside? NSAIDs are not helping. Is it possible to remove the clot? If so, will the pain go away then?

I went to have my 6 month ultrasound after having both legs treated with endovenous laser ablation. According to my doctor, there is still trapped blood below my right knee. He assumes it will find a way out eventually. Is this true? Also, my right leg is numb. He says that this may be permanent. Will the feeling ever come back? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? I completely regret doing this. :(

I clearly needed post-EVLT microphlebectomy or sclerotherapy. Why would I have to wait six months to be re-evaluated, when my legs clearly are not improved cosmetically? I feel that it should be done as soon as possible. What are your recommendations?
