Please discuss with your provider pre-procedure instructions for any concern or questions you may have. In general, it is recommended you avoid caffeinated drinks to prevent constriction of the veins for better visualization. Some supplements, as well as anticoagulation medication, can make your blood thinner, causing you to be more prone to bleeding and bruising.

Thanks for your question, and good luck!

None in particular, although I would consult with your doctor. Some herbals contain aspirin or other blood thinners which may increase the extent of bruising that you experience, and iron containing compounds in vitamins may increase your risk for post sclerotherapy pigmentation.

Avoid supplements that are blood thinners. Generally vitamin E in large doses, and any others with this action.
