I have varicose veins that get worse when I'm pregnant. I want to have endovenous ablation, but should I wait until I'm finished having children (my husband and I want at least one more)?
It would be better to have the veins treated before your next pregnancy. This will help to avoid any potential problems from the veins with your next pregnancy.

If your varicose veins are persistent and cause you symptoms. You can
get treated anytime. If you are in pain or your calfs are swollen and
heavy all the time you should get the treatment and not wait for
future pregnancy.

It's a personal decision. If you have treatment now and get pregnant, you could form a new vein that refluxes and new varicose veins. However, if that does occur, there would be less to treat vs. if you wait.

Not Necessarily. It is better to correct venous insufficiency before you become pregnant , because it prevents the progression of disease associate with pregnancy. However, you should not have treatments if you are actively trying to conceive.

There is no good reason to wait. Actually, taking care of the problem prior to any future pregnancies is actually the best scenario because it will make you next pregnancy more tolerable and take care of the underlying vein problem for good. There is no problem with waiting, but if it were bothering me, I would get it done now.

If you have lifestyle limiting symptoms, I would suggest treatment. If the symptoms are still tolerable, then wait.

The treatment with endovenous ablation can certainly be done in between pregnancies. It will greatly improve you leg symptoms and you should have less leg pains during your next pregnancy.

Absolutely not. If you have problem that is bothering you, have it fixed. same vein will not re-appear. Those who say first have all the kids you may want to have, then worry about the vein that is causing you trouble, is like saying: Don't fix you achy tooth, until
you are sure you don't want to eat anymore! The current problem with veins can be fixed. If in future another problem showed up, then you can have it checked and fixed accordingly.

I depends on many factors including how bad your symptoms are, and how large the veins are. You should discuss this with your MD.

There is no huge problem with waiting, but if it were me, I would get it done now.

No. If you need the procedure, it is better to go ahead and get it done.
