Still numb to light touches after a year.

It has been a year since my VNUS closure and I'm still numb to light touches on my ankle. I feel like it has gotten better, but is it safe to say I'm stuck like this forever? or could something be pushing on the nerve stopping the healing?

Possible injury to the nerve. Still may improve over more time. Observation is the best course.

Numbness in the distal calf or ankle area is not common after VNUS but does
occur 5-10% of the time and may persist for a year or more. It is not
likely anything is pressing on a nerve rather there was thermal (heat)
injury to the nerve during the sealing despite adequate local anesthetic
placed around the catheter in the vein. Consider your symptoms before the
procedure and I hope the numbness is more of a nuisance than a disability
and that on balance your leg is significantly better off now than
preoperatively.

Since your symptoms have improved, they may continue to improve. Usually, however, whatever you have by one year will probably be what remains. I doubt that there is anything pressing on a nerve.
