Ulcer treatment options and healing duration to minimize scarring?

I had Sclerotherapy 3 weeks ago, and have an ulcer on the shin. It's closed but has an inflamed red border, uneven edge, dark black deep scab in center, a few mm depth (scab gets moist in shower, rub of danger). I'm treating it with: mepilex silicone bandaid and compression hose. Any other options? How long to heal? Will there be any scarring?

Generally a bit slow to heal 6-8 weeks.
You'll have to see it may have some scarring or hypopigmentation but not usually severe.

Hard to tell how long it will take to heal. This depends on the status of
your other deeper veins. I usually treat superficial ulcers of the legs
(whether injection sclerotherapy related or spontaneous) with silver
sulfadene and fine this helps the wound heal with less scarring than
allowing it to scab over repeatedly. Consider having an ultrasound made to
check for leaking veins if the ulcer is slow to heal.

The ulcer usually is superficial and should heal in a few weeks If
its still there, it should be evaluated by your surgeon or at another
vein clinic experienced in treating ulcers.

There are options for ulcer treatment following sclerotherapy. What you are doing is one. Another would be to excise the ulcer under local anesthesia and close the area. This can be done if it is clean. Unfortunately, these ulcers take time to heal and can leave a scar.
