I highly recommend you seek a consultation with a Board Certified Vascular surgeon and also a wound treatment center. If the ulcer is venous in origin, sometimes a simple sclerotherapy (foam) solution into the smaller reticular veins in the area can help. You are very young to have these issues, and it may not be of venous origin. Some university centers combine consultations with dermatology and vascular surgery and wound center.

Venous ulcers are treatable, but they require aggressive care. See a vein specialist. Treatments involve wound care, a venous duplex ultrasound to find the source of the feeding veins to the ulcer, closure of any refluxing truncal veins (great and small saphenous veins), closure of feeding perforator veins and then compression bandages. Careful follow up is essential, as well as local skin care around the wound. This is a process and may take months to heal but it can be healed.
