What can I do to reduce pain from labia veins during pregnancy?

I had vulvar/labia veins during my third pregnancy and had to spend a lot of time in bed with pain/heaviness etc. That continued three years postpartum so I had varicose vein surgery. Nine months ago, the doctor said I had pcs and removed some huge veins. I am now 6 mos pregnant and the veins are back. Help!

You should have an MRV of the abdomen and pelvis to evaluate your veins from the level of the kidneys to the lower pelvis. If the source of the pelvic congestion syndrome and subsequent vulvar veins is in this area, then it can be treated with either coil embolization or catheter directed sclerotherapy. If the source is in the groin, then a thorough venous ultrasound should be able to identify this to determine treatment, either with laser ablation, sclerotherapy or microphlebectomy. Unfortunately, since you are now six months pregnant nothing should be done until you deliver.

The V2 support belt may be helpful and it's designed specifically for your complaint.

Wear a pelvic support garment. Your OB/Gyn should give you a
prescription and a medical equipment supplier would measure and fit you.
I have also heard that the Spanx(r) garments and compression with elastic biker shorts with a pad against the vulva will help help some.

Perhaps a supportive groin garment might help this can be a difficult problem however. I would reconsult with your local physician.

Aside from bedrest with leg elevation there is nothing else to offer you while you are pregnant. Afterward, you should have ovarian vein embolization for treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome.

Sometimes, compression with elastic biker shorts with a pad against the vulva will help. Once you are healed after delivery, a work up including abdominal/pelvic venous ultrasound BY A TECHNOLOGIST SKILLLED IN SUCH AN EXAM and consultation with a vascular surgeon or inteerventional radiologist who treat PCS would be a good idea.
