There is no difference except for the name and type of laser used. Both do the same procedure with similar results. Both are closure procedures.

Endovenous laser ablation is the name of a technique. It can be done with a variety of lasers such as ELVeS, CoolTouch, or ThermaLite to name a few. They all have similar results.

I am glad you ask this question because i am getting ready to present some information that patients having the ELVeS which uses a 1470 nm laser report less discomfort than the EVLT which uses an 810 nm laser. I do think that the difference matters enough that if i had a choice i would chose the ELVeS. But both procedures are equally effective.

The terms are interchangeable. It is the same procedure that is called: EVLT, EVLA or ELVeS.
