An interventional radiologist who specializes in treating PCS is the person to see. He/she can perform the appropriate testing and often treat at the same time. Typically some sort of stenting is involved. Weight gain isn't typically associated with this.

An Ob/Gyn will be very helpful to exclude other causes for your symptoms. The pain that is associated with this disease is usually dull and aching. The pain is usually felt in the lower abdomen and lower back. Recommended treatment would be to close down abnormal veins in your pelvis usually performed by an interventional radiologist.

Some OB-GYNs are verey skilled at initial evaluation of pelvic congestion syndrome but very few actually treat the syndrome. Treatment usually is performed by a vascular surgeon or interventional radiologist who may have a special interst in PCS (most do not).

Treatment must be tailored to the individual patient's problem. Many of the treatments involve closing large varicose veins in the pelvis with foam sclerotherapy or veins such as an incompetent ovarian vein with coil embolization.

I am not aware of an association of PCS with weight gain.
