It depends on the procedure that you had done. If you had one of the current minimally invasive procedures, nerve damage is infrequent and usually diminishes over time. I would recommend a visit to your treating physician.

With routine daily use of support hose and time, patients who have tingling with the numbness usually will find the symptoms resolve. Some patients who undergo vein procedures, especially vein stripping, may experience some residual numbness that does not resolve. If it is very bothersome you can talk to your doctor about possibly taking neurontin or other medication for nerve pain. Thomas Wrihgt MD

Give it time. Sometimes the peripheral nerves will regenerate over time. Sometimes. you may stay numb there. If it is very bothersome you can talk to your doctor about possibly taking neurontin or something.

You seem to be describing saphenous nerve discomfort. This nerve runs in very close proximity to the saphenous vein and can be injured during the stripping procedure. These symptoms will, often times, improve over about a year. However, although improvement is usually the norm, persistent symptoms can occur. I would recommend that you follow up with your surgeon and
even consider seeing a neurologist.

Not much you can do except give it time right now. This represents a saphenous nerve injury at the time of stripping, the nerve runs with the vein and can be injured inadvertently during the stripping. A very common injury with this operation.
