Which antibiotics should be avoided when getting Sclerotherapy?

Which antibiotics should be avoided when getting sclerotherapy? And how long before and after the procedure should they be avoided? Are tetracyclines the only ones that cause staining or do others?

While all the tetracyclines are the worst antibiotics for staining after sclerotherapy there are other antibiotics that can cause staining after sclerotherapy. These others antibiotics are quinolones like Cipro and sulfa like Bactrim antibiotics can also cause staining. Wishing you the best of health.

As far as I know possibly tetracycline but even that is probably OK.

The antibiotic which causes staining is Minocycline but can happen with tetracyclines (both can precipitate in the presence of sodium Tetradecyl Sulphate (Sotradecol). We typically won't treat anyone with minocyline or tetracycline use within 6 months.

There is an increased incidence of staining from sclerotherapy when taking minocycline. Probably, avoiding any "cyclines" would be advisable during sclerotherapy. I would avoid using them for 2 weeks before and after treatments.
