Walking decreases your risk for blood clot. Typically, for the first couple of weeks after your procedure, the more walking the better.

Some practitioners recommend some walking exercises after EVLT and/or foam sclerotherapy. The idea is to increase the circulation on the deep venous sytem and potentially prevent thrombosis.

It is thought to reduce the risk of blood clots. Blood clots can occur after any surgical procedure including an ELVeS.The risk of a blood clots very small after an ELVeS procedure. It is estimated to occur less than 2 per thousand procedures. Walking shortly after a surgical procedure can reduce the risk of blood clots occur. It is hoped that by walking shortly after the ELVeS procedure the risk can be further reduced perhaps to zero but that is not proven.
