If the procedure is done with only tumescent anesthesia then you would be able to drive yourself home. If any type of oral sedation or pain medicine is given then someone else should drive you home. Since this is a procedure, if you can find someone to drive you home, then this would be the best approach. For the first 24 hours there is very little discomfort. Usually there is redness over the areas lasered and some drainage from the tumescent anesthesia.

Many physicians require that you are driven home after the procedure.? This is precautionary. If you are sedated for the procedure you certainly should have a driver. Without any sedation, you may be able to drive at the discretion of your doctor. Most of my patient dont receive any sedation and they can drive home after the procedure. Recovery is typically very easy, with most patients returning to normal activities the day of the procedure.

It's safest to have someone drive you. You can drive the next day. Recovery is quick, you can expect bruising for two to three weeks.

If you get sedation with the procedure, you can not drive yourself home. If you opt to have the procedure dine with only local anesthesia, you may be able to drive home depending on the physical exam of you performing physician. But in general, it is better to plan for a ride home.

Generally I prefer the patient to have a ride, but I've had patients drive themselves as well.
