One leg had a very small vein. After a closure and 2 stents, I have nerve pain, new veins, abdominal pain, and can't stand up/walk upright. The closure was 11 months ago; 7 months with swelling and pain in shins. The nurses treated me and last saw the doc 5 months ago. I feel betrayed that he told me new veins "happen" and I would have to pay for cosmetic treatment. I am worse off, tired and believe the 2 stents were unnecessary for a "valve" problem in one leg. I was not shown the US either.
I totally agree with you that your story does not make sense. I think you need to get copies of all your records and get a second opinion.

I would seek a second opinion from a board-certified vascular surgeon. Take your records and ultrasound reports with you.

I think it is best for you to see another vein specialist. Typically, stents are used for May-Thurner syndrome. It is not likely that stent in the venous system were used below the groin crease.
