AFter EVLT can I walk when I take out the stockings to go to the bathroom, for example, during bedtime?

I had Endovenous Laser Ablation 5 days ago and last night was the first time to sleep without the stockings. In the beginning I felt some little pains but later was OK. If I have to go to the bathroom do I have to wear the stockings again? I am scared walking without the stockings. Will something happen to my leg without them?

You will probably be OK without the stocking when you go to the bathroom. I recommend my patients keep the stocking on continuously for the first week, but other surgeons prefer continuous compression a bit longer. Stopping the compression may lead to more swelling and discomfort post operatively. Best of luck.

You should not have a problem doing such a short walk. My protocol is to have my patients wear the hose 48 hours x 24 hrs per day, then during the day for 5 more days. There is nothing you can do to harm your procedure at this stage even having them off for short periods while watching TV, etc.

Following EVLT I have my patients wear stockings for only 2 days post procedure and they can remove them to shower. You are 5 days post procedure and there is no need to wear the stockings at all. The more you walk the better.
