Can a vein ablation on the left leg cause problems in the right leg?

I had a vein ablation on my left leg 5 months ago and now I have pain in both legs, moreso in the right. I never had any trouble with the right leg before the procedure. Could an ablation of one leg cause pain and/or other problems in the other, untreated leg?

If there is no valve reflux in the right, it is unlikely to be related. You could be evaluated for back changes as a possible source.

No, it can't. But it can unmask a problem that was in your right leg that became apparent when your left was treated and you could tolerate more standing.

A vein ablation on one leg will not cause any symptoms on the other leg. See a vein specialist for an evaluation of the newly symptomatic leg to find the source of the problem.
