I generally wait 3-4 weeks, but I suppose it could be done in 2-3 weeks if desired.

Depending upon the patient, size of veins and location of areas to be treated, we sometimes do both at the same time. If the sclerotherapy is in the immediate location of the microphlebectomies, we will wait several weeks to see if there is decrease in the veins in that area.

That is something to discuss with your physician on an individual basis, however, many physicians will wait a few weeks before beginning sclerotherapy. This is not a hard and fast rule, so individual treatment plans vary widely. Discuss this with your treating physician.

I start sclerotherapy usually 7 to 10 days after microphlebectomies. The limiting factor for starting sclerotherapy is the amount of bruising following the microphlebectomies.
