It is unusual to see more bulging veins so soon after phlebectomy. You need to go back to your doctor or take a second opinion about what is going on.

Yes you should ask your doctor why this is happening and perhaps another session would help. Closing one vein can cause others to become more pronounced so addressing these may be in order.

More veins can always develop, but it seems rather soon in your case. I would get a new ultrasound and see if they missed a vein with venous insufficiency which could be causing your underlying problem. If not, see how large these veins are and maybe they could just be injected with sclerosant instead of having more veins removed.

What you may be describing is trapped blood in the phlebectomy sites or possible new veins. You should follow up with your treating physician for either evacuation of the blood or further microphlebectomies.

I experienced severe bruising and intense pain 8 days after ambulatory phlebectomy and EVLT. I could not even touch the area from my right groin all the way down to my knee. I followed all of the doctor's orders given post-op. Upon a recheck yesterday, no infection was found, but during the ultrasound the pain upon the docs pressing the area was excruciating and I felt a burning sensation go all the way up leg. What's going on? Could I have a hematoma?
