I had the deep vein closed in both legs and sclerotheropy on both legs. Six months later my legs still look bad.

My right leg looks a little better but my left leg is still horrible. The only thing gone is the ropy vein. Is this normal?

Without seeing your legs it is difficult to say. There are many reasons why legs don't improve. The smaller "feeder" veins below the spider vein areas must be treated also. Additionally there may be perforator veins which connect the surface veins to deeper veins. These can continue to push to the surface making treatments ineffective or in some cases worse. Also it can take 3-5 treatments for an area of veins to resolve (that is approx 70 - 80% improvement). Some people do need to continue treatments over several seasons (best done in colder weather). IF you are treated by an experienced practitioner with access to a physician with ultrasound you should be able to received comprehensive treatments. If not, seek a second opinion.

Deep veins are not closed by ablation procedures but rather superficial veins so I am not sure what you are saying. If you had a superficial vein closed and sclerotherapy, then you may need additional treatments. Sclerotherapy usually requires more than one session to achieve resolution of the veins. You should follow up with your treating physician.
