Is it normal to still have a swollen leg and fluid build up after almost 2 months?

I recently had endovenous laser therapy on both legs, as well as phlebotomy to remove bulging veins. The procedures were approx two months ago. The right leg is still bloated and pink from the knee down. I also have mild discomfort in that leg when I'm at the gym. Will that pink swollen look ever go away, and is this normal? In addition, I recently became sick with body aches and chills, and the right calf turned completely red and swollen. Should I be concerned?

1) I highly recommend that you get your leg scanned to exclude deep vein thrombosis.

2) The fevers and chills are not likely to be related to the endovenous ablation. If the leg wounds from microphlebectomy are infection, this may rarely cause sepsis.

3) Thrombophlebitis, unless infected, does not manifest itself with septic symptoms (fevers, chills, night sweats, etc).

Go back and see the surgeon who did your procedure for best guidance. Always choose an ABVLM-certified vein specialist.
