Is numbness and pain normal after EVLT?

EVLT . 2 answers . 2 years ago

I had EVLT done on my rt leg three weeks ago. I still have pain and walk with a limp. It hurts to straighten my knee fully. It's as if the back of my knee is "tight". I got a large blister on my thigh and am completely numb in my groin and rt hip area

The "tight" feeling is common after an ablation and goes away in a few weeks. The blister should heal and might have been caused by tape. The numbness in the groin and hip area is very unusual. This might have been caused by the anesthetic needle. Numbness can occur when treating the lower leg veins and sensation usually returns after a few months.

I would recommend that you seek immediate medical attention from the physician that performed your procedure, as your symptoms are not typical and you need to be evaluated for complications. You might have an infection, blood clot, or nerve damage that may need to be treated.
