Should I have Bruises from my compression stocking?

Compression Stockings . 4 answers . 2 years ago

I am 16 years old and was put in a compression stocking on my right foot after fracturing my lisfranc joint in my foot playing hockey 3 months ago. I am now getting bruises on my mid foot where I injured my foot and on the sides. Is this normal?

I do not think it is normal. Compression hose should not cause bruising. Perhaps they are too tight. It's been 3 months since your mid-foot fracture. You should probably ask the doctor if you still need to wear the hose and, if so, get properly measured by someone who works with compression hose on a regular basis.

This is not usually typical and may be related to the fracture, so you should see your doctor.

Your bruising is most likely from your injury and not stocking related. Talk with your orthopedic surgeon if you have further concerns.

The stockings should not be causing the bruising and you should not have bruising 3 months after the injury. follow up with your orthopedic surgeon.
