Varicose Vein Surgery . 3 answers . 3 years ago

I had the procedure done nearly 2 weeks ago, In 2 or 3 of the incisions it feels like a knot, 1 of them seems like a large lump about size of a quarter - kind of hurts - will they get smaller and go away and is this a normal?

This is not unusual. They will go away over time.

These areas are due to hematoma formation (clotted blood) from the microphlebectomies. When the veins are disconnected, some blood is left behind which forms these hard areas. They will improve over time (usually 3 to 4 weeks). Warm compresses and anti-inflammatory medications help.
