Yes, it is a duplex ultraound machine. There are different 'probes', i.e., handpieces, used depending upon what area and the depth of the tissue that is being examined.

An ultrasound is used that has high frequency probes necessary to visualize the veins under the skin. It is similar to fetal ultrasounds but the programs are different.

We use FDA approved solutions and a GE Ultrasound machine. It uses a vascular probe vs. an OBGYN probe. Hope this helps.
