Are there any exercises to reduce skin ulcers?
Varicose Vein Treatment - 1 week ago1 answer
I had a vein removed in 2007 in my left leg. Now ulcers form all over the ankle and sides and it itches. When I scratch, liquid oozes out. I was told that after surgery, alternate channels will be created and blood supply will get normal. Are there any exercises that facilitate creating the channels. What can I do to reduce ulcers?

Compression Stockings - 1 week ago2 answers
For someone with varicose veins in the feet (red spots under the skin, not sure if it's a complication of varicose veins) is it safe to use compression stockings with low pressure without a prescription? Or could it do harm, knowing that she didn't get diagnosis of varicose veins or anything?

My wife is wearing a thigh high compression stocking. She gets groin pain. Is that normal?
General - 2 weeks ago1 answer
Doctors discovered a massive blood clot in her leg when pregnant. It was from her pelvis to her knee. The baby was fine through all of this and my wife had a surgery after giving birth to remove most of the clot. Doctors believe the clot was there before we got pregnant. She had a stent put in and is on blood thinners for life. Currently on lovanox and asprin. She also has a bone growth. Her femur is 3 time the normal size. Nothing doctors can do about that.

Can varicosities be treated in deep veins if someone already has a DVT?
Varicose Vein Treatment - 2 weeks ago1 answer
My father has varicose veins in both legs. The right leg has been operated on twice by laser ablation and it's completely fine, but the other left leg has been operated on once and after a few months he had a DVT in that left leg. The DVT for that leg has been treated and varicose vein treatment is to be done on that same leg. My father isn't getting a satisfying result from anywhere.

Can sclerotherapy be used to ablate any portion of the GSV that EVTA may not have gotten, or does the catheter procedure have to finish it up?
EVTA - 2 weeks ago2 answers
The 5-6 week post ultrasound shows both GSV were ablated and no DVT's supposedly, but there is a 1-2 inch varicose vein on the medial side of the knee by one of the insertions that is still there. I thought that was GSV, but can a tributary be literally right next to it? When I bend my leg up into a position to get into bed about a 10" line in the region is sore. Also, on the back of the calf there is a slightly bulged out region of 4"x3" that is lumpy. Can that happen after the GSV is ablated

Do I need antibiotics for swelling and tenderness after a recent vein procedure?
Varicose Vein Treatment - 3 weeks ago1 answer
I had varicose vein procedures in both legs recently. The left leg developed swelling and tenderness nine days after. I called my doctor's office on Saturday and they said to go to the ER. The ER doctor said it was a skin and underlying tissue infection and prescribed antibiotics. They said to see my regular vein physician as soon as possible. My vein physician said this was a normal reaction and told me to stop the antibiotics and that the swelling would go away in about three months.

Can removal of veins and the ablation of greater and lesser saphenous veins lead to an increase in the number of varicose veins?
Ambulatory Phlebectomy - 3 weeks ago2 answers
Two years after having my greater and lesser saphenous veins ablated in both legs and some varicose veins removed (stab phlebotomy) in my right leg, I have now developed a considerable amount of varicose veins in the right leg. I'm concerned about having them removed now, thinking it will cause pressure on other veins and I'll get even more of them.
