The ACP Annual Congress: Educating Providers for 30 Years

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the ACP Annual Congress. Starting with just 100 participants and 28 faculty, the Annual Congress has grown to more than 1,000 attendees, over 100 faculty and nearly 80 exhibitors, covering the breadth of deep and superficial venous and lymphatic care.

Each year, the American College of Phlebology (ACP) Annual Congress continues to grow in scope and numbers, making it the largest and most comprehensive meeting dedicated to venous and lymphatic care in the U.S. This year, the ACP is preparing for yet another exceptional event with the 2016 ACP Annual Congress this November 3-6 at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, California.

Under the direction of co-chairs Carl Black, MD and Kathleen Gibson, MD, the 2016 scientific program will continue to set the pace for vein care with innovative and engaging content presented by respected faculty from around the world.

“The committee built a program this year that carries on the tradition of the very first Annual Congress – to provide attendees with the tools they need to improve the standard of care in their practices,” stated Kathleen Gibson.

2016 Annual Congress program highlights include: luminary lectures from leaders in Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology, and Vascular Medicine; in-depth sessions on lipedema, thrombophilia, and unusual vascular disorders; debates with international experts on venous stenting, perforator vein treatment and best treatment choices for incompetent GSV; hands-on and small group lectures on non-thermal ablation, sclerotherapy, and anticoagulation; and concurrent symposia for Ultrasound and allied health.

“The content and interactivity are what have set the ACP Annual Congress apart for three decades,” explained Carl
Black. “This meeting is unique and provides physicians and allied health providers opportunities that they can’t get at any other single meeting.”

A new all-day lymphedema and wound care track has been added to the Pre-Congress program (Thursday, November 3rd), along with tracks for ultrasound and basic & advanced phlebology. Specific workshops are offered, as well, for IVC filter placement, iliac venous stenting, IVUS, embolization, live US scanning, and compression.

In addition to the scientific sessions, a separate Practice Management symposia will be available on Sunday. Practice management sessions were developed to help practitioners manage coding and insurance challenges, registry participation, and how to market their practice through traditional and digital vehicles.

Although the curriculum will be challenging, the three-day event will take place just steps from the “Happiest Place on Earth™” in Anaheim, California, a relaxing atmosphere for networking and engaging with colleagues. Social activities are planned throughout the Congress, including a Fun Run, Silent Auction, the “flashback” After-Party, and the ACP Foundation’s 10th Annual Golf Outing.

Thirty years on and the field of vein care continues to grow, with the ACP Annual Congress as a driving force, addressing educational needs at all levels of skill. Join the ACP November 3-6, 2016 in Anaheim for this essential event.
