What's the best option for removing bulging veins in the leg?

I have bulging veins that seem to be more evident after strenuous exercise. It is mostly on the right leg. What would be the best option for removal? Can you give a ball-park cost estimate? At times, my legs feel really tired and this has created some discomfort.

Your symptoms are suggestive of varicose vein disease. but only an standing ultrasound can verify that. There are many options for treatment theses days. The good news is there are noninvasive methods to help which are more effective, safer, and won't leave scars when compared to the old fashion vein stripping surgery. These include EVLT and RF. I'd suggest finding a physician who had a practice dedicated to the treatment of varicose veins (Phlebologist). If you're symptomatic most insurance companies will cover this treatment.

I would recommend you be evaluated by a board certified vascular trained surgeon who specializes in treating varicose veins. This will include an ultrasound. If you have symptoms (heavy, achy, tired, throbbing, cramping etc) your evaluation and treatment will be covered by your insurance (some plans have exceptions but most cover). When you are exercising your veins dilate and the extra pressure can cause increased appearance. Typically there is an underlying saphenous vein reflux (back flow) from damaged valves. Usually inherited. This vein would be sealed using a laser and a surgeon can remove the bulging veins through tiny punctures (microphlebectomy). If you have no insurance, the cost can vary from location to location so it is difficult to give you an estimate.

Small veins give deoxigenated blood to the main saphenous vein. After that, deoxygenated blood goes through the saphenous to the heart and lungs to get fresh oxygen and circulate it through arteries. I am noticing some blue reticular veins on my legs over the past couple years. They are beginning to seem more noticeable to me. They are light blue- not dark blue/purple. More recently, I have a few straight veins (not Ropey not twisted) that run diagonal on my legs that bulge slightly but only sometimes throughout the day... Every day, but not all day. I can't connect the bulging to any particular event. I workout daily and am of ideal weight. Does this signal varicose veins are coming?
