You are very early in your healing process. With any procedure there is some swelling and inflammation for some time afterwards. With this particular procedure, as this resolves, the small nerve endings "wake" up and there can be some discomfort. We usually recommend massage with arnica or Dermaka cream several times per day and taking some OTC ibuprofen several times per day.

It might be normal, but it's hard to say. Go back to the doctor and have him or her check it.

It could have irritated a nerve. Or, if it is red or inflamed, you possibly have an infection. I would recommend seeing your physician.

Every patient experiences different levels of pain & burning sensation. Sometimes it takes a few days for the discomfort to go away. If the pain is bothersome, please call your doctor to make sure it is normal.

You don't specify which part of the lower extremity the vein was removed from and if it was microphlebectomy or vein stripping. This would be important in assessing the nature of symptoms you are having, in regards to sensory nerve injury.

What you are describing are normal symptoms post-vein treatments. If the procedure was done with tumescent anesthesia, you would feel more discomfort 5 to 7 days after the procedure because by this time the anesthesia is wearing off and the vein is contracting and there is also localized inflammation from the closure procedure. If you had stripping, then you would be feeling the tightness from the scarring and inflammation about one week later.
