This is usual and to be expected. Before treatment, veins are open channels in which blood can flow freely - with leg elevation, the vein would empty. Once treated by sclerotherapy, the vein is sealed with some blood remaining inside - it is firm and cannot be emptied by elevation. It takes weeks to months for the vein to be completely removed. Be patient but if you have any concerns you should contact your physician prior to your next appointment.

It is difficult to give you an opinion without an in person evaluation; and I think it is important that you are evaluated by a vein specialist doctor, preferably board certified by the American Venous and Lymphatic Board of Medicine. Using ultrasound to scan your leg(s), a specialist can follow up on the treatment you had done and determine a treatment plan for you according to clinical evaluation, ultrasound results, and your specific needs.
