I have severe peripheral vascular disease and have had a femoral popliteal bypass and stents put in both leg femoral arteries. Is VNUS closure safe?

A closure procedure is safe to do but you will be sacrificing the saphenous vein, which could be a potential conduit for a future bypass.

Probably not advised if the vein is useable; you might need it in the future for a bypass.

It's probably safe, but just not prudent. You would have to have a really good reason to choose to have a VNUS closure, and with the information provided I can't think of any. The vein to be closed is also used for heart and leg bypass surgery. Most ulcers can be healed with wound care and short of an ulcer, I generally advise against it in someone with your history.
