OTC supplement which claim prevention and treatment of veins will not change your condition. Vein problems are inherited. Check with your parents and relatives to see if they have vein problems. Put your money towards a good quality compression stocking.

I am not aware of any over the counter supplements that will prevent spider or varicose veins from developing. The most important thing you can do is treat the underlying reflux, which you have done, and wear compression hose frequently.

The Cochrane Collaboration has shown that the active ingredient in horse chestnut extract, aescin (escin), helps relieve symptoms of venous insufficiency.

There is no evidence that Horse Chestnut pills or any other over-the-counter supplements can prevent spider veins and varicose veins from returning.

There are many supplements available for "vein health" such as horse chestnut, berries, grape seed extract and diosmin, but although they are purported to improve veins, I do not know of any specific study that proves this. Since most veins are due to genetics, reflux, and valvular incompetence, I doubt that supplements will prevent vein reoccurrence.
