Is it OK to wear full leg compression stockings after total knee replacement?
My surgery was 3 years ago but my knee and lower leg are swollen.

It is perfectly fine to wear compression stockings after TKR. If your leg is swollen, get a scan to rule out DVT.

It should be no problem to wear compression hose if your knee surgery was years ago and you are completely healed. If your leg is still swollen to or above the knee, then thigh high compression hose are a much better choice than knee high which would likely make the knee swelling worse. I would consider a formal venous evaluation for that type of persistent swelling to see if you are a candidate for a minimally invasive, office based vein procedure that could significantly improve your swelling.
