Compression hose is used for many reasons. My female patients have even used yoga pants with great satisfaction after closure, sclerotherapy or microphlebectomy. Male patients tend to favor ace wraps. For other vein and lymphatic issues such as swelling and CVI support hose is more efficacious.

About 1 month ago I was kicked in the back of the knee. After a couple of weeks, I noticed a "pinching" or "achy" pain. The pain hasn't increased, but hasn't gone away either. I can feel it in my calf and inner thigh. Had a D-dimer test and it came back negative. 2 different doctors took a look; there is no swelling or heat, but it occasionally causes a Charley horse in my thigh. Do I need an ultrasound?

The acupuncturist did a very quick trigger point with a 2mm needle on the side of my knee & I felt a shooting sensation down my leg. The next day I couldn't get up from bed. I'm having trouble sitting & walking, even getting up from the bed hurts like crazy. When bending or straightening my leg, I get a sharp, shocking pain that shoots down my shin & on the inside of the ankle. I'm a professional athlete & am very concerned. How long will it take to recover?

The pain moves around - no obvious swelling. I'm in Vietnam, a small village and no doctor apparently. My legs are quite uncomfortable and the pain hasn't gotten better over 5 days though feels better if I'm moving around. Best way to describe it is that it there is random pain, aching and discomfort. I also flew two smaller flights in the last few days.

Hello, I have a problem with the pain in my foot. I am back from Spain. On my 12th day of walking, I experienced a sharp pain in the area of my toes in my right foot and later developed swelling, so I rested. Following that, I continued walking for 10 days. After more swelling developed, I stopped walking. It is now 25 days since this happened and the foot still hasn't come back to normal. Pain is less, but present. I have a lump on top of the foot, and it hurts to press it

I fractured my tibia in 2013 and was misdiagnosed by my college trainers. I ran on it for 6 months. I was a D1 college runner so the mileage was higher than an average runner—around 80-95 miles per week. The doctors provided by the school opted for me not to have surgery and wear a walking boot. They told me after it was "healed" I would have permanent nerve damage and it will feel broken. Just a "jogger" now trying to run with minimal pain. Would compression socks help?

I had a ligation around 15-16 years ago in the groin area due to massive clotting. It regularly becomes irritated and red, and the bouts can last for weeks up to months before subsiding. Usually, this occurs after extreme amounts of activity. Is this normal? I was led to believe that eventually it would not be a factor.

I went to the ER in pain and the ultrasound shows thrombophlebitis of saphenous vein at the femoral junction. The ultrasound tech said she could push it down the deep vein system with pressure. Sarasota Memorial Hospital ER sent me home and said to take some baby aspirin and contact a vascular specialist and pain management specialist. I am in a lot of pain. The ultra sound tech was more concerned than the doctor who did nothing for me.

Once in a while I woke up from sleep with severe intense pain on my left leg from thigh to foot. It lasted from 2 to 6 mins. I am a registered nurse. I wear compression stockings at work during the day. It helps. Should I also wear them night?. It scares me whenever it happens because the pain is usually unbearable until it finishes its course and duration.

I have tried Epsom salt, have used an electric foot massage, and even wear 15-20 mmHg compression socks. I also wear Hoka One One Clifton 5 shoes, which are only 1 month old. No matter what, I still feel pain. What should I do?
