The window of discomfort post-endovenous laser ablation is typically the first 3-4 weeks. At 2 months out, you are outside this window. Furthermore, given that your pain is now in a different location, it tells me that your venous circulation has adjusted to the GSV closure and is now putting pressure on some other section of your vein structure. This is a normal phenomenon, in that your venous blood will be redirected into adjacent tributaries. Unfortunately, the discomfort that you are experiencing has the potential to continue until you have the remainder of your refluxing veins treated. Given that vein disease is typically regarded as an inherited disorder, the likelihood that your leg only has 1 vein that is affected is very, very low. Furthermore, vein disease is a circulatory defect and not the "cosmetic" issue that most people make it out to be. Cosmetic things do not hurt. Your doc just did not fix the "circulation" part of your vein issue. Fixing the circulation part of your vein disease will take your pain away and ultimately make your legs feel like new. Given that your doc has done nothing for 2 months, it is unlikely that he/she will. Find a doc who knows how to fully address your venous circulation and you will see your pain resolve.
