I've just had a femoral bypass using the deep vein from my leg. The stocking is causing a lot of pain/does nothing for swelling. Should I take it off?

I still have stitches in, and my leg is not healing due to the swelling. There is no vascular surgeon on hand over the weekend, so I will be going back on Monday to discuss this with him. In the interim, should I leave the stocking off until my appointment?

Please check with your vascular surgeon; they may have to reevaluate for VTE.

My vascular surgeon did an ultrasound and prescribed endovenous laser ablation. She also suggested that I wear compression stockings after the procedure. However, due to severe psoriasis and eczema on my feet, I cannot wear full-coverage stockings that cover them. They must always be in wet dressings, but cannot be fully covered. Would footless compression stockings be just as effective as full-coverage hose following the procedure?
