Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care Questions

If I have Vnus Closure treatment at age 28, will this prevent my CVI from worsening, or will it at least slow it down?
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 2 months ago2 answers
I have reflux in my GSV in both legs. I have varicose and spider veins, leg pain, leg heaviness, the works. I am young, but I want to start working on this problem now. My grandfather has CVI and has had two DVTs and four veins closed. His legs are huge and discolored and I (sadly) see my future in him! Is this treatment going to help?

Is there treatment for reflux in great saphenous veins only upon standing?
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 2 months ago1 answer
Since pregnancy in 2015, I have hx of pelvic congestion (recently embolized) and mild May Thurner's w/o DVT...my legs are the greatest source of my pain, and despite very obvious veins throughout my legs (including squiggly veins from buttocks down the thigh and swelling behind both knees), I was told that I have reflux only upon standing in my great saphenous veins. I wear compression hose every day (and still have pain), and was told there is no other treatment specifically for my deep reflux

The GSV and LSV in my left leg were ablated to address venous reflux, yet I continue to experience poor circulation in leg. Anything I can do?
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 4 months ago2 answers
The general reflux symptoms have definitely receded. However I continue to have significant circulation-related problems such as pain when my foot remains on the floor for a few minutes from sitting or standing (sometimes big toe feels like it will explode). Would removing the rest (lower half) of my LSV help? The LSV part that was ablated was from mid-calf to knee. Also, is it unusual for patients to have this problem after both veins have been ablated?

After blood clots my doctor told me that the clot in the gastrocnemius vein has calcified. What does that mean exactly?
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 4 months ago1 answer
I recently had superficial blood clots and small clot (1mm/1mm) in the gastrocnemius vein in my leg. Should I be worried about this? The superficial clots dissolved and the varicose veins causing the reflux/clots will be removed soon.

I have spider veins and varicose veins on both legs, in my thighs, and elsewhere. I have an ulcer that never opened. My skin is discoloured and my feet can get dark blue if i'm on them too much. I'm in a lot of pain and have fatigue. I want to be able to do more and have a better life. I'm a single mother and I live in GA. Also should I be taking a prescription pain killer for the daily pain so I can exercise and do more, until I can get a surgery? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have been diagnosed with bilateral deep system reflux/deep venous insufficiency, is surgery an option?
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 6 months ago2 answers
I have been diagnosed with Bilateral Deep Vein Insufficiency, I am not even 40. In addition, I have incompetent saphenous vein at the saphenofemoral junction because of reflux at saphenofemoral junction. My surgeon says there's nothing to do but wear compression stockings. What does this mean for me? Can I work, should I work? Is it life threatening? He had no answers and I am scared. I requested referral to Mayo Rochester to a phlebologist.

What is the cause of my ankle swelling and pain when walking?.
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 8 months ago2 answers
My right ankle began to swell 2 months ago and is painful to walk on. Seen by orthopedist and podiatrist. MRI and x-ray are normal except for fluid accumulation. Venous surgeon did a duplex sonogram and found GSS-AK-P with rfx 1677, diameter 6.7. GSV -AK-M Rfx 699, diameter 5.4. and SFJ Rfx greater than 500. The left leg has GSV -AK-M, Rfx 958, dianerter 4.4. He said he could ablate the vein but it may or may not help the ankle. He didnt seem to know what to do. What is likely the problem?

In 2006, I underwent an artificial lumbar disk implant. This failed causing artificial disk to move into the spine. While surgeon removed the artificial disk implant, he nicked the illiac vein. This resulted in a blood hemorrhage, and several blood transfusions. I formed a blood clot in my lower right back leg. (DVT). I have developed venous insufficiency in the right leg. Am I susceptible to a DVT again?

It has been 6-8 weeks since my GSV ablation and I have the normal bruising, but within the last couple days a red, sore and warm area has developed.
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 10 months ago1 answer
It's in a different location on my calf than the rest of the bruising and is more painful. I've had this done before and I didn't have this reaction. I wonder if I should have it checked out or wait a little longer to see if it goes away?

I have had pharmacy-fitted and over-the-counter knee highs for venous insufficiency. My legs swell some during the day and go down at night.
Chronic Venous Insufficiency Care - 10 months ago3 answers
Both kinds give me pretty large swollen ankles when removed before bedtime, which I don't have without them. Two doctors and my pharmacy cannot tell me why this is the case, and what I should do about it. Can you help me figure this out?
