Is it safe to fly with a partially dissolved ovarian blood clot?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 3 weeks ago1 answer
I had surgery bowel resection surgery in May. The post-surgery CT found an ovarian blood clot. I was given Xarelto for 3 months. Vaginal bleeding began, and then stopped. The blood clot is dissolved somewhat, but is still present. Is it safe for me to fly?

I had a pulmonary embolism and they did an ultrasound of my legs and said there was no sign of DVT and PTT test was 225. Can I wear compression socks?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 1 month ago2 answers
Could it be possible that the clot did come from the legs and wearing compression socks could be harmful? The clot was small and I was sent home the next day on blood thinners and Corlanor.

Was diagnosed with DVT May 8 and was given Xarelto and Percocet. My leg still swells and hurts when I walk. Should I be walking on it?

I have reached out to my provider. They said 4 to 6 weeks before it returns to normal. Color is still off especially when I am on it. I have no idea how to care for my leg. Just had hysterectomy April 13 which led to the recent clot. I just need to know the to do's and not to do's. I will see a hematologist June 8th, but I need help now.

I recently was discharged after a week in the hospital with a severe GI bleed. The area was the colon but an exact point of origin was not determined.
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 4 months ago1 answer
The bleeding stopped on its own. I have since developed a DVT in my calf muscle. I have been on Xarelto for 24 hours. Because of a blood thinner concern which might start the GI bleed again, the new suggestion is to switch to a NSAID from the Xarelto. I know I am in a catch 22 but I question the effectiveness of an NSAID for the clot. I am seeking an alternate opinion and other possible solutions given both conditions. Thank you.

Should compression stockings be used when running?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 5 months ago1 answer
I had contradictory advice from different vascular surgeons. One stated that the blood when running goes up really fast in the veins and that wearing stockings could create skin problems. I have femoropopliteal DVT (diagnosed 5 months ago) and use class II thigh-high stockings. Again, here some suggest knee-high instead.

The inside of my right ankle and calf is swollen after my first physical activity 4 weeks following a clot in my leg. No pain. Is this normal?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 8 months ago3 answers
I had a blood clot 4 weeks ago in my leg and lungs. I'm on Xarelto. I was feeling 100% until this past Monday, when I went and shot some hoops by myself and ran up and down the court. I did so pain-free, but when I got home my ankle, foot and calf became really swollen. It has been 4 days and it hasn't gotten better. No pain, but am concerned. Is this normal? I already have a visit with my GP next Friday. Should I try and get in sooner? Thank you.

Several years after a VNUS closure to my inner left thigh, I still get very sharp pain a few times per month. Should I be concerned? There was a complication the first time that caused an infection by breaking procedure. It has come and gone since the procedure. Is this anything to be concerned about?

I have a month-old clot in the GSV 2cm away from the SFJ.
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 10 months ago2 answers
I have a clot in the GSV 2 cm away from the SFJ in the left leg. I am on anticoagulants; maintaining an INR between 2.5 and 3.5. Is it enough to prevent DVT? Can I drive an automatic gear car? In the sitting position, is the blood flow through the femoral vein enough? What positions should I avoid? While lying on the bed, should I keep the pillow under my legs continuously?

I flew and am now having cramps in my calves and pain behind my knee and hip. What should I do before my flight back?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 11 months ago3 answers
I have arthritis in my knees and they usually hurt when I fly. This time my right calf is cramping and I have pain behind my knee and where my leg meets my hip. I am supposed to fly again in two days. Should I get this checked before I fly? If so, can I go to a walk-in clinic or do I need to go to an ER?

My husband was fitted for compression hose and now wears it on the leg that has DVT. He is wrapping it on top of that with ace bandages. Is that OK?
Deep Vein Thrombosis Treatment - 1 year ago2 answers
I just want to make sure it's OK that he is wrapping that ace bandage a little tight over the hose to reduce the swelling more.
