Radiofrequency Ablation Questions

I had RF ablation 48 hours ago. I would like to wear my custom knee-high stockings instead of full compression hose. Is that OK?
Radiofrequency Ablation -3 answers
I had RF ablation 48 hours ago. I have been wearing compression stockings since my procedure. I had my hose and knee-high stockings custom fit, but the hose is horribly uncomfortable and restricting my activity. I am having no pain or swelling. I understand from recent research the full stockings offer more comfort and will not effect closure of my GSV.

How do you stop the spread of ankle swelling?
Radiofrequency Ablation -1 answer
I had laser ablation to treat ankle swelling, but had no improvement. The swelling keeps spreading to the feet and now up the legs. Compression garments, keeping feet elevated, walking and dancing have no effect. Both legs keep getting worse. Blood tests for liver and kidney problems are normal. Ultrasound results before and after ablation were never explained. How do I get the swelling under control?

Is it normal to still have warmth in my varicose and spider veins 5 years after radiofrequency ablation?
Radiofrequency Ablation -1 answer
I had RFA about 5 yrs ago. At times, I notice warmth in the varicose and spider veins in that leg. I had a Doppler in June that was negative and for a while, it seemed improved. When I sit with my legs elevated or when I get up in the morning, the veins are cool to touch. This is only when standing or walking. I have no redness or swelling. I do have pain in my veins at times. My PCP said that the warmth is probably because of the ablation and the blood being closer to the surface.

Does RA work on leg pain? I have pain throughout my buttocks, front and back of my thighs, and front and back of legs down to my ankles.
Radiofrequency Ablation -2 answers
I have no varicose veins. My accident that caused this pain was falling down concrete stairs on my back, landing on my butt. I have no back pain from this--all legs. My doctor recommended radiofrequency ablation. I've done some homework and all I really see is treatment for back, neck and varicose veins with this procedure. I know to talk to the doctor but I'd like to hear what you have to say.

Radiofrequency Ablation -1 answer
A year after ablation I have burning small veins appearing in my inner thigh. It is painful. The ultrasound determined anterior vein reflux, and my doc suggests another ablation. Is it absolutely necessary? May I develop new varicose veins if I don't have it done? Am I having neovascularization?

When can I get back to intense resistance training, plyometrics after ablation with microphlebectomies?
Radiofrequency Ablation -1 answer
I had my great saphenous vein ablated with radiofrequency and 11 microphlebectomies over my left shin 2 weeks ago. I love to workout—intense workouts with weights, bands, and plyometrics. When can I get back to this? I've been walking a lot, with hills and inclines as my neighborhood is very hilly. I did yoga this morning and it felt great. I know to ease back but want to make sure I don't do too much too soon.

7 days After getting RFA I banged my same inner thigh that I got the procedure in. Can it reopen the vein?
Radiofrequency Ablation -1 answer
It’s more swollen now and has a new bruise. I got an ultrasound before banging my leg earlier that day and they said my vein was closed. I’m just worried I reopened it. It seems extra tender now. I banged it pretty hard after tripping.

I had RFA done on my bursa/hip yesterday and during the procedure, I had severe pain down my leg and into my foot.
Radiofrequency Ablation -1 answer
The doctor said that was not normal and to call if it persists. Obviously he hit a nerve. The pain was very bad all night and this morning, my leg has improved thankfully, however I have shin splint pain. Is it possible he has caused damage? Should I expect it to subside? I have no issues with my legs and feet other than tingling from chronic back issues.
