How expensive is it to remove spider veins? Also, what are the risks?

I had my spider veins injected 6 months ago and they have since become dark. Is it expensive to have them removed? Also, are there any risks I should be aware of?

It depends on how many treatments are required . Dark spider veins are best treated with sclerotherapy. It can take one to five treatments. The treatments cost from a couple hundred to five hundred dollars a treatment so there can be a wide variation in the cost.
Sclerotherapy for spiders veins is pretty safe but there can be minor complications like hyperpigmentation can occur.

I am not sure you mean when they injected ten they got dark which is usually due to hemosiderin and usually fade very slowly over time. This is called staining. Otherwise you have more veins and these can be injected or treated

The cost of spider vein treatment depends on how much a person has. Spider veins, or any abnormal veins for that matter, do not go away without treatment. Most of our patients require at least 4 visits per leg to eliminate much of what they have. It can be more or less depending on how much you have. As for the dark discoloration you now have after treatment, it is probably because the person who treated your veins did not eliminate the reticular veins that were feeding your spider vein. When this happens, people get blood pocketed in the spider veins. This blood is what gives you the dark color.

Spider veins can become dark after injecting. This could be due to trapped blood within the veins or to skin staining. You should see a vein specialist for an evaluation. Trapped blood can be drained but 6 months is a long time. If you have staining, this is harder to treat. Spider veins are not surgically removed and the cost to treat these veins vary.

I had sclerotherapy for spider veins performed two weeks ago on my leg. I have been in a great deal of pain since. All my sore spots are large veins in my foot/ankle. On a follow-up, I was told they injected them. When I asked why, I was told that every vein that they can see can be injected in the foot since I have so many. I have a hard time believing this and I now don't trust them. Is any of this true? Also, with so many large veins injected, how long before I can walk without pain?
