What treatment can I have to rid the varicose veins in my hands?

These can be either injected or removed. Injections typically can take several treatments, with possible extra visits to remove small collections of trapped blood. In my center, I remove veins through tiny punctures (mircrophlebectomy). We do half the hand at a time as healing is faster. Either way can give outstanding results with an experienced surgeon.

Treatment is either to remove the veins (microphlebectomy) or inject them (foam sclerotherapy). I do both ways; some doctors only can do 1 way.

The veins in your hands are good for intravenous therapy should you be sick. If you find them unsightly, you can have them objected or have fillers like restylane put around the veins to plump the area.

I treat hand veins with a combination of sclerotherapy for the smaller veins and endovenous laser for the larger veins. Very rarely, I will remove the veins through microincisions. The treatment is done in the office under local anesthesia and is cosmetically very excellent.

I recently began experiencing pain with my CVI. I am very obese but have lost 60lbs and am living a healthier lifestyle. I now exercise every day and do strength training. Since losing weight I noticed that my legs are very painful. The pain got worse after taking 2 weeks off for Christmas. During this time, I did not exercise like I should have. Any idea as to why my pain suddenly onset? I recently purchased compression stockings and have been wearing them for a week.
