Procedures & Services

At CRL Surgical in Charlottesville and Central Virginia, we developed Charlottesville Vein Center out of necessity to our patients to provide total vein care. As specialists in vascular diseases and the treatment of both artery and vein conditions we recognized the importance of creating a specific branch of our practice fully dedicated to treating venous disorders and varicose veins.

To the general public, vein conditions do not seem to be as important a problem as artery conditions because after all our brain, heart, kidneys and all other organs depend on a continuous flow of fresh oxygen to survive. However, veins are actually more complicated than arteries because they are difficult to understand and definitely more difficult to completely correct.

We established Total Vein Care to bring the very best and latest minimally invasive treatments to patients with symptomatic or cosmetic vein disorders in Charlottesville and Central Virginia . The treatment of leg vein disorders has changed dramatically in the last few years. Elegant new technologies to eliminate troublesome surface veins have almost completely replaced conventional "stripping" and the need for large incisions. The improved treatments result in few or no incisions, a rare need for an anesthesiologist and a rapid return to normal activities.

Total Vein Care offers the following services:

  • Comprehensive Treatment for Telangiectasis (Spider Veins) and Varicose Veins
  • Tumescent Enhanced Sclerotherapy
  • Laser Endovenous Closure (ELVeS or Venacure™)
  • VNUS Closure®
  • Surgical Venous Reconstruction
  • TriVex® System (Transilluminated Powered Phlebectomy)
  • Comprehensive Treatment of Deep Venous Thrombosis
