I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome, how painful will delivery be if I get pregnant again?

I was recently diagnosed w/ pelvic congestion syndrome. The varicose veins are in my pelvis, not my ovaries or uterus. Currently, I only feel pain during the first few days of my period. During that time I I can't have a bowel movement without Advil because I have vaginal canal pain. How painful would labor be?

If the pain is that bad, then most physicians would recommend seeking treatment for those pelvic varices. If you've had a pelvic ultrasound, then a venogram would be the next step in the treatment process. Talk to the office that did the ultrasound, or if you haven't had an ultrasound, find a clinic with a physician that is accredited by the American College of Phlebology.

Your question can really be difficult to answer since every person is different. An educated guess, given that you are currently having vaginal pain with your periods, would be that the pain will intensify many folds. The reason for this is that the source of your pain during your period is the bump in hormone levels that normally accompany your periods. Well, when you are pregnant, those hormones obviously escalate a lot. The result is increased dilation of your good and bad veins, thus increased pain. So, in summation, labor is painful in general but your PCS may make it more so. How much you notice since there is really now way to compare is another thing.
