Is early VNUS treatment better?

Recently my greater saphenous veins have become noticeably enlarged at my ankles. Exercise now causes previously invisible calf veins to show. Does early treatment result in significantly better outcome? Can veins become enlarged but not varicose?

Early treatment can prevent other varicose veins from enlarging, I mainly treat patient for their symptoms. If you're concerned about appearance treating earlier is better before other Venus arise. And yes veins can enlarge only.

If you do not have any significant sized varicose veins or symptoms of
swelling, pain, skin changes, nighttime leg cramps or restless legs syndrome
or other medical venous condition, it is best to be conservative and live
with your asymptomatic veins.

If you have significant venous reflux in the Great saphenous vein that is confirmed by duplex ultrasound, then it is best to get the veins treated earlier than later. Venous Reflux is a progressive disease and the treatment will be a much bigger deal down the road.

Early treatment is usually better then delayed treatment. If you have reflux and varicose veins and symptoms then you should have treatment sooner rather then later. Veins can become enlarged just from exercise without being varicosities.

Ijust had VNUS closure surgery 4 days ago and the pain is minimal. But, I did notice today it feels like there is a throbbing or heartbeat, almost like a twitching or pumping in my upper leg. It doesn't hurt. Is this normal? What's causing the pulsing/throbbing? Also, am I able to tan (tanning bed or stand up) if I wear my support hose so my leg is not directly exposed to the light, and if I don't use tanning lotion on the leg?? When will the fat, worm-like veins go down or look better?
