There is no reason I can think of that would prevent you from taking the pill after a procedure like endovenous laser ablation or sclerotherapy.

I would consider waiting on having the endovenous laser ablation or sclerotherapy procedure at least for a couple of months. The reason for this stems from the fact that any birth control pill, such as Plan B, can put you at higher risk for a blood clot. Now, if you have been taking a set dose of an OCP for a few months, that increased risk of clotting tends to decrease; thus, the brief waiting period I recommended.

There is no conclusive or empirical information which contraindicates the use of Plan B One Step two week after endovenous ablation or sclerotherapy. To be completely sure however, you may want to check with your vascular surgeon.

If taking the morning-after pill following endovenous laser ablation or sclerotherapy, there is a small risk of blood clot. It is not just the procedure that carries this risk, the contraceptive does as well. Still, the overall risk is very small; therefore, taking the pill should be fine. I would advise you to discuss this matter further with your gynecologist and vein specialist.
