Karate & kickboxing after EVLA and Sclerotherapy

I had EVLA done on 3 veins recently. I know 1 was the small saph., the other two names I am not sure. Also had sclerotherapy on both legs. When can I go back to karate and kickboxing. We do kick pads pretty hard. Training for my black belt!

The advise of an expert is recommended, therefore, you should follow up with your provider to give you the okay to go back to your training. Each person can heal differently and some can take more time than others.

Regularly, medical compression stockings are recommended to be in place without removal for the first day and night after the procedure. Then, they can be on only during the day and not at night while sleeping.

It is recommended to not do weight lifting and heavy exercises for two weeks after the treatment; however, normal activities and walking are advised to maintain good circulation.

Between 3 to 7 days after the procedure, patient returns to see the vein specialist for a follow up ultrasound imaging.

Thank you for your question.

I recommend that patients get back to their normal activities following EVLT as soon as they feel physically OK. This may take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. Following sclerotherapy my only restrictions are no sitting in a hot tub or 2 days and compression for 2 days. Showering can be immediate. Also no sun burning for 2 weeks post sclerotherapy.
