Sapheno Femoral Junction?

Can a laser effectively occlude an incompetent Sapheno femoral Junction? If it does, which modality is better; Diode or NdYag?

All are effective. Find a Surgeon or Phlebologist doing large volumes that you feel comfortable with and make the laser a secondary priority.

Technically, you do not want someone to occlude your saphenofemoral junction. The occlusion should extend to a short distance below the saphenofemoral junction. All of the LASERs in routine use for saphenous vein ablation work very well. There is some research that some may be slightly better tolerated but they all work well.

They are both effective and would be used to ablate the saphenous vein below the junction.

A laser can close an incompetent saphenous vein. The saphenofemoral junction is not occluded during this treatment but rather the closure is done to within 2 centimeters of the junction. Many kinds of lasers can treat this. I am not aware of NdYag as being used for this.

Yes. EVLT or RFA are both equally effective. Usually Diode laser but others can work also. Just go to a reputable vein clinic.

This refers to ablation of the saphenous vein just below the junction. All the lasers designed for endoluminal laser ablation work well for this as well as the radiofrequency closure device. I'm not certain the ndyag laser has been used for this however. Results are good with all the devices available.
