If the vein ran close to the surface of the muscle there could be muscle
related pain. This should resolve in a few weeks (Motrin should help), so if
it's been longer than that it should be rechecked.

It is normal for a patient to experience some minor discomfort, stretching,
pulling sensation, tingling as the treated vein is being absorbed. I would
encourage you to follow up with your physician because they specifically
know what procedure was performed and what veins were treated.

This is to be expected if you had a greater saphenous ablation.

It is very common for patints to have a "muscle pulling" sensation in the thigh after EVLT. Wearing cmpresion stockings, using anti-inflamatories and/or acetaminophen decreases the sensation. It is very common and it is not a complication. May last 3-10 days and will resolve.

How long has it been since the ablation? Discomfort for 3 to 4 weeks after ablation is common. Hard areas over the ablated vein are common. You should follow up with your vein specialist.

If you have any questions about your post-op progress, yes, call you surgeon. In our clinic my patients can call me directly after hour or at the office during weekdays. You CAN experience discomfort in the thigh area due to localized inflammation from laser and local anesthetic injection. Compression hose, ibuprofen (I prescribe for 8days) and low heat for 10 mins. frequently. It should only last a couple days. I ask patients to massage gently with Arnica cream. Wonderful product. However, if you feel this is more serious I am sure your surgeon would be happy to see you.
