I had VNUS closure a week ago and now I have a lump-like bruise that hurts a little when I touch it. Why?
I had my vein treatment a week ago. I believe they performed EVLT (they used something hot to shrivel the veins) and microphlebectomy (they removed two little veins). It's been aching right below my knee. I looked this morning and there's a lump-like vein that wasn't there before. What's wrong? Should I be worried?

This is extension of the 'closure' into the tributaries below the knee. You should see the vein specialist for follow-up and take NSAIDs like ibuprofen and place topical heat on that area below the knee.

I think you should ask your doctor. It could just be the vein they treated.

What you are experiencing is normal post a closure procedure. The hard area is either due to the treated vein, which is now constricting from the treatment and becoming hard; or the microphlebecomies sites, which also can become hard due to bleeding under the skin. These will soften over several weeks. Hot wet compresses to the area and ibuprofen will help.
