I had schlerotherapy done and my veins have returned a year later so I am looking for new options. Also is light therapy permenant or will it eventually reappear as well?
Good Morning Melissa
Results vary depending on how your veins were treated (sclerotherapy, laser, sclerotherapy to feeder veins below the surface etc) and how many treatments you had. Also genetics, age, hormonal changes etc also affect results. We have good results with a combined laser, sclerotherapy to feeder veins and surface veins. An average area of veins takes 3-5 treatments. After a complete series of treatments about 4 weeks apart, we tend not to see our patients return for several years or more.
Light therapy for small spider veins on the face or fine clusters of veins on the legs works well as long as larger veins below those areas are treated also. Again it takes multiple treatments for long term success. As stated before, each person is individual and results and duration can vary.
