I had sclerotherapy on 4.19.12 on both legs. I stopped wearing compressing stockings after 2 weeks as recommended by my doctor. I walk whenever possible but would like to do my yoga also. Will yoga be harmful for the veins?
This is a great question and I'm happy to be writing to a fellow yogi! Do not fear yoga for vein health. Of course walking is likely the best thing you could do, inversion poses, series of sun salutations, all keep the blood moving and do not allow for any meaningful pooling. Go at it and stay healthy!

Yoga is great. I do it as well. It is not harmful to veins. As long as you wait the prescribed amount of time after treatment before resuming activity, keep it up.

There should not be any limitation of activity, but you should check with the doctor who performed your sclerotherapy.

Sclerotherapy is intended as a treatment so you can get back to your usual daily routine. In most instances, it should be fine to resume your usual activities after 2 weeks, but I would discuss with your treating physician first.

Sam,
Exercise in general is good for not only your vein issues but also for your health in general. Since your veins rely on your muscle contractions to help the blood circulate, anything that increases the tone or muscular contraction strength in your legs will only help your venous circulation flow. By maximizing your venous circulation, you can minimize any potential discomfort that can come from your vein disease. That being said, my advice to you is go exercise and feel better in general.
